Little Bow Wow Rescue is a 501c3 non profit organization that has been saving lives since 2002. To date we have rescued and rehomed over 1000 dogs and a few dozen cats as well!
Over the years that Little Bow Wow has been in operation, the world of rescue has blossomed, partly thanks to the internet. Rescues all over the country are now able to connect with the public and find forever homes for their adoptable dogs. We are proud to have taken part in this revolution of sorts and welcome all of the new rescue groups participating in the movement to help end the problem of homeless pets in our society.
In 2012 Little Bow Wow is celebrated our 10th Anniversary. We are chose this milestone to revisit our mission within the world of rescue.
During the next few years we would like to turn our focus toward our sanctuary program. This program allows us to provide permanent foster care to special needs and senior dogs that end up homeless due to a variety of reasons. These are the dogs that often would be the first to be euthanized in animal control facilities and shelters because they are the most difficult dogs to find homes for. Over the years we have often taken in senior, handicapped, and emotionally insecure dogs, some we were eventually adopted, and some have stayed in foster care long term. We are now dedicating all of our efforts to provide long term care for these very special dogs.
In special circumstances we will occasionally rescue and re-home adoptable dogs, but on a much smaller scale.
