GINGER
Little Ginger is just 6 lbs, and is estimated to be about 5 yrs. old. This girl is very sweet and happy, which is remarkable considering she came to us from a puppy mill. Ginger is great with smaller male, mellow dogs. She tends to want to boss around other females, but will tolerate a submissive female who lets her be boss. Ginger loves to cuddle on the couch with her foster mom and is an instant friend to anyone with a treat for her!

Helen
Helen is a 10 month old Mini Australian Shepherd. She is considered a "special needs" dog because she is both hearing and vision impaired. She is blind in one eye and has limited vision in the other. We're not sure if she is completely deaf, but she is definitely severely hearing impaired. Despite her handicaps Helen is very sweet, happy and loving. She is also quite smart. She is doing well with house training and crate training. She is great with other dogs and whenever she meets a new person she wiggles all over and gets very excited. Considering her special situation we would prefer to place Helen in a home with at least one other dog to help her adapt and ideally with someone who has experience with deaf dogs.

Clara
This little doll is 4 months old and weighs just under 4lbs. We estimate her adult weight to be under 10 lbs. We think that Clara is a Chihuahua, terrier mix, possibly with a little Italian Greyhound thrown in since she has such delicate features and long legs. She is very sweet and affectionate. She loves to give kisses and sleeps curled up on her foster mom's chest, or shoulder while she watches TV. Clara is great with other dogs and LOVES to play. She is doing well on her housetraining using puppy pads inside and going outside in a fenced area as well. Clara does appear to have some coordination problems with her rear legs. Our veterinarian examined her and did radiographs, but everything appears to be normal. It is possible that she has some mild neurological problem, but she does not have any pain, and it doesn't slow her down at all! She runs and plays just like any other puppy.
