Clara : This little doll is 8 months old and weighs 6 lbs. We think that Clara is an Italian Greyhound, terrier mix. She is very sweet and affectionate. She loves to give kisses and sleeps curled up on her foster mom's chest, or shoulder while she watches TV. She is happy, playful and loves both men and women. Clara is doing well on her housetraining using puppy pads inside and going outside in a fenced area as well. She also is doing well with crate training. We quickly discovered that she can get over any baby gate or small fence within a few seconds. Because of this talent, she cannot be left outside alone, even in a fenced in area. Clara is good with other dogs, but like most females can be a bit bossy at times. UPDATE July...Clara is currently being evaluated for a possible neurologic issue with her rear legs. She has always walked kind of funny, but we just chalked it up to puppy clumsiness. She's now been with us for 6 months and it hasn't changed so we took her into the vet - so far xrays and an exam haven't revealed anything significant so for now we are in a "wait and see" mode.
If you are interested in adopting Clara email Michele at mtjaden3@msn.com, or better yet fill out an application by clicking on the link at the top of the page.

Moses
Mo is a purebred 6yr old Miniature Pinscher. He originally came to us from an animal shelter where he was taken by animal control after being hit by a car. His left rear leg was broken and due to his injury he was slated for euthanasia. Luckily the shelter contacted us...we took Moses to our vet and an xray revealed that his femur was shattered so the leg could not be saved. Mo does great on 3 legs...he runs and jumps with the rest of the dogs, in fact most people don't even realize he is missing a leg until it is pointed out to them. Moses is great with other dogs, but cannot go to a home with cats. He is crate trained, and does well on a leash.

Lily
Is a former puppy mill breeding dog. She is estimated to be 8 yrs old and weighs about 8 lbs. Lily has come a long way since she arrived here. Our vet did a complete work up on her including lab work to evaluate blood and urine for organ function etc. - she passed with flying colors. She had severe dental disease so we had an extensive dentistry done on her that included pulling several infected teeth. Next she was spayed and had several mammary tumors removed and sent into the lab for evaluation. We waited anxiously to hear the lab's pathology report and were relieved when she was given an All Clear report - none of her tumors were cancerous!! Now Lily has recovered completely and is good as new and waiting for her forever home. Lily is slowly learning about what it's like to live in a home. It can be a challenge to completely housetrain a puppy mill dog, it takes a lot of patience. Lily is good with male dogs (particularly other Maltese), but tends to be pushy with other females. She is shy with new people, but warms up eventually, especially if they have treats!  If you are interested in adopting Lily, please email Michele at mtjaden3@msn.com or click on the application at the top of this page.
